994 Royalty-Free Audio Tracks for "Rain Thunder"

A close "superbolt" lightning strike that knocked out power on the 6th of october 2014.

This is an excerpt from the longer storm track from may 4, 2021. Distant, long rumble of thunder recorded on my zoom h6.

Recorded during the heatwave that the uk endured in 2022 this was a recording made from the garden on august 25th. The recording starts with gentle rain which slowly becomes heavier. Around 25 minutes the first distant rumble can be heard. From 30 minutes onwards. The soothing sounds of thunder and heavy rain. From an hour on the storm moves away and the rain eases.

This is about 14 minutes of a short rain/thunderstorm. The file fades in on light rain but then you hear a swell of heavier rain with light thunder. It all comes back down again by the end with some birds thrown in!.

This was recorded during a storm on the road near to the station. Lots of rolling thunder, cars swooshing past through deep puddles. Local trains stopping and starting, express trains passing. People running for cover from the rain.

Rain falling softly into a puddle of rainwater by my back basement door. Some peals of thunder can also be heard softly in the background. Recorded fairly close.

My first upload to freesound is a thunderstorm recorded in gateshead, uk, next to our open bathroom window. Some lovely thunderclaps and rain. Recorded on a zoom h5. There are also some household sounds swimming around in the background, doors closing, dishes clinking etc; i think you can hear the radio or something very faintly towards the end -- but there's plenty of clean usable thunder and rain in there. Incidentally i often use this type of thing in my long-form instrumental music, produced under the name conelrad. Lean minced beef frying in the pan recorded with olympus ls 12, sounding like hard rain. Thunder-esque sounds recorded by blowing into the mic of my olympus ls 12. This sounds as if it were staged by hollywood, but it actually did happen, i swear! birds chirp away to set the scene, but a beefy thunder roll intrudes. Soon after, raindrops begin to fall as if on cue. Theres a little handling noise click in the begining that is easy to crop out if you like. The recording is unedited. At 1:35 i move the mics closer to the deck so you can hear the splashing. At about at 3:10 i you’ll hear a different timbre as i move away from the rain and under an awning. About 3:45 the rain settles down and the birds start chirping again. Hopefully there are some useful segments in here. Recorded with a dead cat on a tascam dr-05 at 48khz 24 bit, then compressed with “lame --preset insane --scale 10” to make up for the low gain i used (i was afraid a thunderclap would engage the limiter). Really hard rain and hail--about the size of airsoft pellets/peas--with occasional rumbles of thunder. Then, at 1:48, there was a huge lightning strike nearby which produced a very loud burst of thunder. Captured from my front porch during a summer storm. Recorded on a windows x8 phone and left as-is. Recorded in ny at 4:20 pm with a sound devices mix pre-3 and an audio-technica bp4025 microphone (with a rode blimp windshield). One hour and 14 minutes of rain, howling thunder, and an occasional bird. The file was edited and lengthened using goldwave and audacity.

Additional sounds include: an air conditioning unit, wind, birds, a distant train horn, passing cars, the dinging of a flagpole (at 4:05), and cicadas (at 10:54). Hail and rain storm recorded in palm beach gardens florida. Used a new rode ntg5 direct to a zoom h6 recorder. Cleaned up in adobe audition. Hail is bouncing off of gutters and cars then turns to a light rain with a hint of thunder in the background.

This is a recording of heavy downpour on the streets of a rural village in germany. The rain was also dropping down on a small metal roof not far away. Furthermore, there was some rumbling thunder going on in the distance from time to time, as well.
